State Rep. Steve Frisbie today celebrated the inclusion of funding for a new Bedford fire station in the fiscal year 2027 state budget that was signed into law today, calling the investment an important step toward strengthening public safety and supporting the first responders who serve the community every day.

The funding will help Bedford Township move forward with plans for a modern fire station designed to better protect firefighters, improve emergency response capabilities, and ensure the department can continue providing reliable service for years to come.

“Our firefighters put themselves on the line every day to protect our families, homes, and businesses,” said Frisbie, a retired paramedic. “This investment will help ensure they have the space, equipment, and resources they need to respond quickly and safely when our community needs them most.”

Many of the area’s existing fire stations were built decades ago and no longer meet modern standards for safety, accessibility, or daily operations. The new station will help address those challenges while supporting the long-term needs of fire and emergency medical services in Bedford Township.

Frisbie worked with local leaders throughout the budget process to secure the funding.

“Strong communities depend on strong public safety services,” Frisbie said. “I’m grateful we were able to deliver this funding, and I look forward to seeing this project move forward for the benefit of Bedford residents and the firefighters who bravely serve them.”
