Legislator to help shape House plans for 2021-22 term

State Rep. Julie Alexander, of Hanover, today announced Speaker-elect Jason Wentworth has appointed her to help determine the policy priorities of the Michigan House for the upcoming 2021-22 legislative session.

Alexander will serve on the temporary Policy Action Plan Committee, which will help collect policy ideas to help build the House Republican action plan for the next two years.

“It’s an honor to be selected to serve on this committee,” Alexander said. “I am looking forward to listening to the concerns our Jackson County families, friends, and neighbors have and bringing them to the Capitol to discuss and lead plans for future action. My colleagues and I are determined to take the many local needs and concerns in Michigan’s communities and form our policy plan for the next two years.”

Members of the committee will soon begin meeting to discuss their top priorities for the new term and collect policy ideas to address Michigan’s biggest challenges.

“I’m looking forward to sitting down with my colleagues and coordinating ideas to better serve all of our unique districts,” Alexander said. “Together, we will keep Michigan a great place to live, work, and raise a family.”

Rep. Alexander will be serving in her third term as the state legislator for the City of Jackson and Concord, Hanover, Napoleon, Parma, Pulaski, Sandstone, Summit, and Spring Arbor townships in the upcoming term.
